Imagine going to the dentist. For some of us, thinking about going is enough to give us anxiety, or at the very least unpleasant thoughts. Now imagine going without the ability to communicate. That sounds truly unnerving.

How to Put Together the Communication Board:

Many individuals with autism have a difficult time communicating. Their ability to communicate diminishes even further when under stress. Today's free autism resource will help individuals with autism express themselves while at the dentist. Just print out the PDF, and review it with your student or child before going to their appointment. Have them practice pointing to each box so they understand the meaning of each symbol.
